Ambulance vehicles are emergency response vehicles designed for the transport of individuals requiring medical care. Modifications may include: raised roof, customized interior, etc.
Type I units are manufactured on a truck cab and chassis with a remountable modular body.
Type II units are manufactured on a Ford, GM or Chrysler full size van which have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 4536 kg, as noted on the compliance label.
Type III units are manufactured on a cutaway van and chassis with a remountable modular body.
All other ambulance not shown as admissible on this list are inadmissible unless not regulated at importation due to age (older than 15 years).
