International and Intergovernmental Relations

Transport Canada cooperates with other governments within Canada and abroad to share knowledge and innovation related to transportation issues. In particular, the department is active in initiatives to strengthen the capacity of public-sector transportation. As a result of the research it carries out, it is able to provide expert advice about air, marine, surface and multimodal systems.

International and Intergovernmental Relations directorate

The Directorate is responsible for the overall management of the Department’s intergovernmental relations, both domestically and internationally, and also carries responsibility for accessible transportation policy issues. It provides high level staff support for the Minister and Deputy Minister.
