Aviation Safety Intelligence

The mission of our organization is to provide Transport Canada Civil Aviation and the Canadian aviation community with timely, relevant, and reliable safety intelligence and guidance to manage risks.

Information about hazards in the National Air Transportation System (NCATS) assists managers in Civil Aviation to understand the hazards and risks present in the elements of the system they oversee. Communication of safety intelligence enables the development of mitigation and prevention strategies that correctly match the nature of the hazards.

As safety advisors we:

  • proactively identify and analyze potential safety issues and trends;
  • evaluate safety data, issues and trends to provide mitigation and prevention strategies;
  • promote a pervasive safety culture by sharing our safety knowledge with and by transferring increased responsibility for safety to the aviation community; and
  • use safety intelligence to develop timely and relevant education and promotion initiatives and activities.
