The ACS Program’s two-pronged approach to air cargo security focuses on:
The Air Cargo Security (ACS) Program is one of many Transport Canada Aviation Security activities being put in place to mitigate risks to civil aviation. The chart shows how the ACS Program is built on a two-pronged approach, each with two sub-activities. The first approach is enhancing Supply Chain Security and includes the sub-activities of creating a Regulatory Framework for the treatment of air cargo by members of the supply chain, and the Oversight, Training and Compliance of the members of the supply chain. The second approach is Air Cargo Screening that includes the sub-activities of developing Screening Technology and Processes, and creating Strategic Partnerships with key trading partners and pursuing the mutual recognition of our respective air cargo security programs. Together these four sub-activities are expected to produce enhanced and comprehensive air cargo security.
